Community Programs

The Portales Police Department has established programs that serve as a resource for residents by providing educational information regarding criminal awareness, crime prevention, and how to strengthen the relationship with the community we serve. The Portales Police staff works closely with faith-based organizations, local community groups, and businesses to build partnerships that will enhance and improve neighborhood safety. The Portales Police Department educates the public through various outreach programs, social platforms, and community events, all in an effort to create a better Portales.

Some of the programs that the Police Department Community Programs are Santa Cop, Adopt A Cop, A Walk in their Shoes,  and School Resource Officer at Portales Schools.

The Portales Police Department also coordinates and tracks all community programs, facilitates media events, and assists staff in other divisions with community outreach.
